SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization which basically means trying to get your site as high up in a search engine’s (typically Google’s) rankings as possible to get the most traffic and the highest targeted, converting traffic to your site as possible.
One of the most important ingredients in SEO is content (right after links). Searchers need a compelling reason to visit your site, stay on your site, link to your site and share your site. If you do not have amazing content ideas that you can type in 1000+ words about then put SEO to the side. Brainstorm and come up with topics that will attract visitors to your site. It must be unique, new, different and full of images and even videos.
Not all webmasters have great content. It really helps to have tremendous content because SEO is just techniques used to get your to match keywords and get your content clicked on more, read more, stayed on longer and thus get your content ranked higher.
Google has over 650 algorithm changes every year. These are factors it uses to rank web pages. Some factors are the number of links from strong domains with strong authority, strong content, even AI (RankBrain). You need you well-selected keywords in the title, headers, and content. Google knows who clicks to get to your site, the number of pages they read, and how long they stay (referred to as dwell time.) Google tracks this data.
SEO takes practice, patience, research, and trial & error.
SEO always changes.
